At some point in our lives, we adapt to a certain way of thinking. It’s either more positive or more negative. The more we have of one, the more we wire our brains to that state of mind. And positivity or negativity becomes automated. The category, “Mind,” is about improving our mental health by developing a more positive outlook on both life and self. This means addressing anxiety, depression, low motivation, and low self-esteem.

We are constantly bombarded with various standards of beauty. Often, they contradict. So, it’s easy for us to wind up dissatisfied with the way we look. It’s easy to have an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise. The category, “Body,” is about improving our health by increasing both our knowledge and outlook on nutrition and physical activity.

Soul

The category, “Soul,” is about connecting with the deepest part of who you are (your soul) with the bigger picture of life. This happens by deepening our relationship with God through prayer, reflection, reading/meditating on the Word, and growing in wisdom, discernment, and understanding.

It is by far the most crucial and most challenging. Crucial because it is foundational to a healthy mind, body, and soul. Crucial because it provides an unbeatable perspective. However, challenging because there are so many things that can derail us from furthering down this path. Challenging because once we embark, there is no finish line. We may doubt, regress, or even abandon. What matters is finding our way back.

The truth is, we are all at some end of the spectrum of this journey. But as we take steps forward and steps backward, the goal is to have an overall forward motion.

Relationships are a fundamental part the human conditioning, influencing our mind, body, soul, and even other relationships. The category, “Relationships,” is about strengthening our connections with each other. This means creating, building, and maintaining healthy relationships, being more discerning of unhealthy ones, and knowing how to handle them.
