Big News! New Children’s Book

It’s been an interesting past few months. I haven’t written here on PositLive as much as I would have liked, and I can name two reasons why. First, I’ve been a bit preoccupied with some other writing. Same PositLive vibes but for a slightly different audience.

On April 16th, 2024, my first book, Tiki Tholley Reads Her Reflection, was published.

Tiki Tholley Reads Her Reflection is a self-esteem children’s book that’s a must-read for every child finding who they are. It’s about a girl who learns a very important skill–how to read her reflection. Throughout the day she would go on to find her reflection in different places, the mean bully in her head (i.e. negative self-talk) is quieted, and she discovers truths about who she is.

My intent in writing this book, and anything for younger readers, is to use storytelling to present things I know now that I wish I had known much earlier in order to help develop mentally resilient kids who will become mentally resilient adults. I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to develop mental and emotional well-being skills as early as possible as it only gets more difficult over time to unlearn a negative mindset.

While geared toward children ages 3-8, anyone of any age can take away valuable lessons from the story. If you are a parent, guardian, or teacher, check out my “Book Explanation for Grown-Ups“.

If you would like to get Tiki Tholley Reads Her Reflection for yourself or someone you know, you can order online from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Orange Hat Publishing.

Now, the second reason I haven’t written here as much as I would have liked.

The book release was preceded and followed by a lot of marketing and promotion, including organizing a book launch party.

Honestly, between my 9-5 job, a part-time job, and the book launch, I needed to take a break from writing and recover from burnout. I’m excited to get back into my writing groove with more PositLive posts coming your way.

To YOU, PositLive Reader

Thank you for continuing to read, reflect, and restore during my long absence. I see those numbers, and I don’t take them for granted. You have encouraged me to keep writing on.
