Thought of the Day

“If you want to feel rich, just count the things you have that money can’t buy.”

Having a lot of tangible possessions is what the world equates to being rich. And we naturally assume that anyone who fits that description is happier. However, there have been (and will continue to be) countless examples of people who have wealth but suffer from deep sadness, too. Because having wealth does not make us immune to unhappiness. If anything, it makes it even more obvious whether or not we’re missing the things that really matter–the things money can’t buy.

As this anonymous quote suggests, if you want to feel rich, those are the things you should be counting. For instance, money can’t buy genuine relationships, genuine care, or a positive mindset. And things like a beautiful sunset, nature, quality time with loved ones, and prayer are always free.

So take a moment to appreciate the wealth (i.e. blessings) you have that your eyes may not see but your heart can feel.
