“You’ll never find rainbows if you’re looking down.”

This is a great quote from the song, “Swing Little Girl” sung by Charlie Chaplin in the 1969 film, The Circus. The quote is more powerful when one considers the rainbow as a symbol of hope, faith, and trust. It means you can never find hope, faith, and trust if you’re constantly looking down–if you’re constantly negative. In other words, a pessimistic attitude keeps you from noticing the rainbow above your head.
