Thought of the Day

“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

This quote comes from Carter Crocker. He wrote the script for various animated films. This quote is uttered by the character, Christopher Robin, in the film, Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin.

While it’s from a children’s story, this moment in the film touches on the difficult subject of grief, loss, and simply being apart from those you love. These things are hard for anyone to deal with no matter their age.

Pooh can’t imagine a life without his friend Christopher. Christopher tells Pooh that if they were to be apart, he should remember that he’s braver than he believes, stronger than he seems, and smarter than he thinks.

It’s easy to believe you aren’t brave, strong, or smart enough to get through difficult times, especially with low self-esteem. Therefore, it’s important to always remember these words. They remind us we can also find strength within. They are relevant not just in times of separation and grief but in any situation where we feel like we don’t have what it takes to pull through.
