“Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least.”
If we list all the things that matter most in life besides food, clothing, and shelter, they’re usually not material. They’re also usually priceless. Maybe the things at the top of our list include our family, faith, or mental and physical well-being. They’re things that are frankly difficult to live life without.
This quote, by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, reminds us to give what is at the top of our list priority. Unfortunately, things that are at the bottom or not on our list at all are often put ahead of those at the top.
Therefore, consider on a regular basis what matters most to you. Are those things constantly being pushed to the back burner? More importantly, are they constantly being pushed by the things on the bottom of your list or by things not on your list at all?
